Firstly I would like to welcome all our readers to 2009 lets hope this year is good for us all. Secondly I would like to tell everyone (who is in th
e design) field about this fantastic site I came across recently. i-lovedesign.com, this site is a gateway for designers to share and appreciate each others work. There are many other sites that cater to artisits and designers alike, at which the same things occur. Posting of work in galleries, while other users can comment on work they like or dislike. The difference with i-lovedesign.com is that the site is run in conjuntion with some of worlds best designers. For Graphic designers this is a great thing, you can access exclusive interviews with designers about a variety of subjects. Designers like David Carson and Chip Kidd hand out advice about trends, techniques and the future of design.
As a designer/artist I've always wanted to find a way of getting the info from the gurus. I wanted to pick their brains about what they feel design is and where it is going. This site gives access to those things I thought were impossible to discover. Apart from this the site also offers a variety of activities for designers to look at. Building an online portfolio, commenting on friends work, entering competitions, reviewing case studies and fun downloads.
As a designer the case studies and exclusive interviews has put this site on my "sites I should bookmark 'cause I keep forgetting the URL" list. Definitely a site designers should visit once at least, artists are welcome to, you may find some inspiration along the way.
